Misogyny Opus celebrates the speech that sparked a conversation. Word for word, hear former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s historic misogyny speech set to music in 18 movements encompassing a variety of musical styles. This pop orchestral work is proudly composed and performed by international songwriter and voice in a billion devices Karen Jacobsen as soloist at the piano, together with backing vocalists and ensemble. Recently premiered with co-commissioning partner Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre with musicians from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the Misogyny Opus was most recently performed at Woodford Folk Festival. A panel discussion follows the performance, exploring the importance of Equality to a healthy society.
