I wrote the following ideas some time ago and every word still stands. In my experience it is always worth it to deliver my work with the highest level of care.
There are many times this feels unnoticed, but I notice. Aside from reputation, this directly affects my view of myself, and this is worth preserving both in the short term and in the long run.
I invite you to make peace with the concept that no one will know but you, and to care anyway.
NO ONE WILL KNOW
No one will know but you how hard you have worked.
No one will know how you tossed and turned over the big decisions, gave more than you thought you could, or beat yourself up over something you said but didn’t really mean.
No one will know that in the deepest part of your heart you want to always do your best but sometimes just cannot find your way through to work out how.
And no one will give you the credit you deserve for all you have overcome, accomplished and created to be standing in this moment in time.
No one will know.
No one will know but you.
