From the recording Seed
The first two lines are inspired by Sinead O'Connor. After she was banned by radio and the industry in the 1990's she said "They thought they could bury me but they didn't know I was a seed."
Lyrics
SEED
You thought that you could bury me
You didn’t know I was a SEED
Emboldened
Poised for shedding my
Dormancy
Unsure the grass was always green
You tried to bring me to my knees
I didn’t scatter to the wind
Instead
Became the storm
That raged for freedom
Aching for freedom
Mistaken, believing
Grace would come
Asking for all who came before
Asking for all we hold as pure
The promise shining like a jewel
The clarity perfect and true
An ultimatum of the highest order
Breaking through to freedom
Awakened to freedom
Awakened to freedom
Liberated believing
Grace will come
